Sesquicentennial Civil War Exhibition
The Cross County Library will host the Sesquicentennial Civial War Exhibiton at the Wynne Branch. The exhibit will be there from Monday, July 27th until August 9th. For more information about the exhibit you can call 238-3850 and press 3.
Salem United Methodist Church will host the Arkansas Alzheimer's Association on Wednesday, July 29th beginning at 6 p.m. in their fellowship hall. Food will be served and there will be a speaker from the Association to talk about "Knowing the 10 Signs of Alzheimer's" and "Effective Communication Strategies" for those with the disease.
Full Moon Adventure
The Mississippit River State Park invites you to come out and join them on a night time walk to see all the nocturnal forest animals. Flashlights will not be provided but it is a good idea to bring one with you. The walk will be on Friday, July 31st starting at 8:30 p.m. You will meet at the Bear Creek Lake Swim Beech Parking Lot and the walk will be approximately a half mile long.

Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza
7/31/15 - 8/2/15
The Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza, the largest amateur big bass tournament in the state, will be held the last weekend this month, July 31 through August 2. Entry fee is $80 per person each day. To register or get more information, check out their website at arkansasbigbass.com.

The Jonathan Conder Memorial 4-Person Scramble is scheduled for August 1 & 2, at the Forrest City Country Club, with both morning and afternoon tee times available. This tournament is open to guys and girls, with dinner, music, and Calcutta Saturday evening, door prizes after dinner. Hunter's Ed Camp
This is a camp for hunters age 10 and up. This is to teach all the safety procautions when you go hunting. The camp will start at 11 a.m. on the 7th and end at Noon on the 9th. The cost is $65 and you can contact Glen Hicks at 295-3681 or 662-1279 for more information.
Movie in the Park
A FREE back-to-school event is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, at the Forrest City Sports Complex. Kids' activities start at 6:00 p.m., including a balloon artist, face painter, and magician. Then there will be a showing of the movie Annie, beginning at 8:30. School supplies and food will be provided, but you'll want to bring your own blanket or chair. The event is being hosted by FCA United, with support from the A & P Commission and Boar's Head.
Golf Tournaments at Ridgecrest
8/8 & 9/15
Ridgecrest Country Club has two more golf tournaments this summer. A two-man scramble will be held August 8 and 9; then the Club Championship is set for on August 22 and 23. Elvis Coming to Phillips County
Dave "Elvis" Ehlert will be performing at the historic Malco Theater on Saturday, August 15, starting at 7:30 p.m. This Man of a Thousand Voices has been featured on Oprah, CNN, Fox, and CBS television; the Legends Stage in Las Vegas; and 19 seasons in Branson. He'll be performing as Elvis, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Dean Martin, Roy Orbison, and BB King, among others. Annual AVESI BBQ Contest
The Second Annual All Veterans Empowerment Services, Inc., Barbecue Contest is coming up, and teams who want to compete need to get their paperwork in by Friday, August 28. The competition awards cash prizes for first place in several categories, including chicken, ribs, and Boston butt, and they also award a Grand Champion. The 2015 - 2016 Performance Season at EACC's Fine Arts Center includes performances by Larry the Cable Guy in late August; The Four Tops in October; A Christmas Carol in December; the Million Dollar Quartet in February; the Oak Ridge Boys in March; and Ragtime, the Musical in April. Colt Pioneer Days

The 24th Annual Colt Pioneer Days is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, September 11 and 12, at the William Stone House in Colt. There will be no fee charged for having a booth, but food will be available from the Colt Community Development Corporation, so no food booths please.
21st Annual Autumn on the Square
The Annual Festival is set for Saturday, September 26th with events and activites starting at 10 a.m. and going until 4 p.m. and that's not all. There will be a live band and street dance from 8-11:30 p.m. that night.
Cinderella at the Orpheum
Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella will be at Orpheum in Memphis, TN from October 13th-18th with several show times. The shows Tuesday-Thursday start at 7:30, Friday sarts at 8 p.m. and there will be two showings on both Saturday and Sunday. The times for Saturday are 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and times on Sunday are 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sell Friday, July 31st and range from $25-$125.
