Clothing Drive

The Integrity Crew will be holding a warmth-for-the-winter clothing drive to accept and provide hats, scarves and gloves for the elderly in the community this winter. Gospel Singing Benefit

There will be a Gospel Singing Benefit for Gabby Dedman on Saturday, January 21, from 11:00-3:00. at Church of God, 611 Williams Street, in Wynne. Classes for a Driver's License are held each Thursday at the Lee Co. Courthouse. The written exam is given at 1:00 p.m., and the driving portion is at 9 a.m.

FCSD Parent Summit

The Forrest City School District will host its annual parent summit on Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Forrest City Junior High School.   Registration will be held from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m., followed by student performances and comments from district superintendent Dr. Tiffany Hardrick. The summit will offer several session options for parents and interactive child care will be provided for students in pre-K through eighth grade.  The event will also include refreshments and a laptop giveaway for parents who attend.

1st Annual Delta Cultural Cook-Off

The Delta Cultural Center in Helena- West Helena will host their First Annual Bean, Greens & Cornbread Cook-Off  on Saturday, January 28, from 11:00-1:00, at Miller Annex, 223 Cherry Street. 2017 Polar Plunge

The 2017 Polar Plunge is scheduled for Tuesday, January 31, at 1:30 p.m., at Sam Smith Stadium. Although they are in a new location they plan to have a drop tank provided by Forrest City Fire Department. Participates can enter by picking up applications at St. Francis Area Development Center, 448 North Rosser. Minimum donation fee is $50, although less will be accepted. Applicants will need proof of income for all household members 18 years and older, state issued ID, social security numbers, proof of unemployment and a copy of utility bills.
