Youth Baseball Registration (Deadline is April 30th)

The Forrest City Recreation Department is accepting applications for youth baseball & softball through Thursday, April 30th. Kids’ fees are $20 and $25. Men, Women & Co-ed fee is $250. For more information please call 633-3667 or 261-1480.

GED Classes (Ends June 17th)

 Crowley’s Ridge Technical Institute is having free GED classes through June 17th. Classes are available in Forrest City, Wynne, Brinkley, Marianna and Clarendon. For more information you can call 633-5411 or 800-842-2317.

Past-Due Payments (Deadline is April 30th)

 Madison District Court offering past due payments through April 30th for accounts that are 30 days or more past due. You can call 633-2172 for more information.

AR Arts Center Visual Performance (April 10th through June 21st)

 The Arkansas Arts Center will have a visual performance of 30 Americans on view at the Jeannette Edris Rockefeller & Townsend Wolfe Galleries from Friday, April 10th till Sunday, June 21st.

Razorback Banquet (April 23rd)

The East Arkansas Razorback club will hold its’ annual banquet on Thursday, April 23rd at 6 p.m. at the Bill Thomas center in Wynne. Coach Mike Anderson will be there. For more information or tickets you can contact Austin Easley at 633-1447.

3rd Annual Omega Glow 5K (April 24th)

DBS will hold their 3rd annual Omega Glow 5K race ath the Methodist Church on Friday, April 24th starting at 6:30 p.m.

Kayaking Tour (April 25th)

The Mississippi River State Park will have a kayaking tour on Bear Creek Lake on Saturday, April 25th at 10 a.m. For a guided tour with a rental is $12 and with your own kayak is $6. For more information you can call 295-4040.

Early Girl Scout Registration (April 26th)

There will be early registration for the Girl Scouts on Sunday, April 26th from 2-4 p.m. at the Monroe County Human Developmental Center. There is a $15 charge and all girls must be entering kindergarten or above to register.

Community Blood Drive (April 30th)

The First Baptist Church will have a community blood drive on Thursday, April 30th from 2-6 p.m. in the Family Life Center.

Wynne Music Club Concert (May 1st)

Wynne Music Club will have a silent auction and concert on Friday, May 1st at the Women’s Progressive Club starting at 6 p.m. Admission will be $10 for adults and $5 for students. For more information you can call 308-0511 or 208-3273.

M*A*S*H Camp (Deadline for Applications is May 1st-Click for more details)

M*A*S*H Camp will be going on from June 8th-19th. This is for students who are entering their junior or senior year in school, interested in the medical field and have completed a biology course. 60th Class Reunion- Forrest City- Class of 1955 (May 1st & 2nd)

The 60th class reunion for the class of 1955 Forrest City High School will be on May 1st & 2nd.

Fishing Derby (May 2nd)

The Chapel on the Ranch Church will host a Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 2nd at the Pine Tree Experiment Office. Registration will begin at 6 a.m. and a grand prize will be given to the winner at a 12 p.m. weigh-in. For people 16 & older the cost is $2 to enter but for 15 & younger the cost is $1. Blood Drive- Phillips County (May 5th)

There will be a blood drive at the Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas in West Helena on Tuesday, May 5th from 2-6 p.m. It will be located in the Fine Arts Building

Free Screening for Anxeity & Depression (May 7th)

The Forrest City Medical Center’s Senior Care will hold a free screening for anxiety and depression on Thursday, May 7th from 10-6 p.m. It will be held in the In-Service Classroom. For more information you can call Bonnie Moore at 261-0319.

Crawfish Festival (May 9th)

The Toler L. Hutchins- All Veterans Empowerment Services will host a crawfish festival on Saturday, May 9th at 10:30 a.m. You will have the choice between crawfish, corn, potatoes, hamburgers, hot dogs, catfish and a drink. For more information you can call 494-3005 or 494-4075.

Forrest City All-Sports Banquet (May 11th)

The Forrest City All-Sports Banquet will be Monday, May 11th at the Forrest City Civic Center. The Guest Speaker will be Donnie Willis. Tickets are $12 a piece or $100 for a table of 10. Tickets need to be purchased by Monday May 4th. For more information and tickets you can call 633-1485.

Annual Arts in the Park (May 16th)

Lee Co. Community Foundation & Marianna/Lee County Museum will host the annual Arts in the Park on Saturday, May 16th from 6-9 p.m. at the Historic Downtown Court Square.

Relay for Life (May 30th)

The 15th Annual Relay for Life will be at the Sam Smith Stadium on Saturday, May 30th from 10-10 p.m. In case of rain it will be moved to the Mustang Arena. For more information or to participate you can call 995-1910.

Summer Food Program (June 1st-July 24th)

The Holly Grove Kiddie Kollege Day Care will hold their summer food program from June 1st through July 24th. The food will be distributed at the Town & Country Annex Building in Holly Grove.

CPR Classes (Forrest City)

CPR Classes Forrest City Medical Center offers community CPR classes on the second Tuesday of every month from 8 a.m. to noon. The class is held in the hospital’s in-service classroom. Sistas Support Group

Fresh Anointing Ministries Church will hold prayer services every third Sunday of the month at 7 p.m., each Tuesday and Thursday from 12-1 p.m. and the last Friday of each month at 7 p.m.

Tabitha's Clothes Closet

Tabitha’s Closet at Oak Hill Church of God is open on the first Saturday of every month form 10 a.m. to noon. Free clothing is available in all sizes for men, women, and children.

Benefit Fund

At First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas locations there is a benefit fund set up for Jarrett “Jett” Moore. It is to help with medical expenses. He was born with single ventricle defect and went through one surgery the day he was born. To donate stop by any location.
