Jim Brady Trio Concert
The Jim Brady Trio will be hosting a concert at the Union Avenue Baptist Church in Wynne on Thursday, February 11. The free event begins at 7 p.m.
There will be a blood drive at Barton High School, 9546 Highway 85C, on Friday, February 12, from 9-2 p.m.
Birding Van Tour
Mississippi River State Park will be hosting a birding van tour on Saturday, February 13, at 8:30 a.m. It is a three-hour event for only $8 a person. Pre-registration is recommended since space is limited. For more information you can call 295-4040.
Chamber of Commerce Banquet 2016
The 2016 Chamber of Commerce Banquet will be on Thursday, February 18, at the EACC Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $25 per person, with corporate sponsorships at $330 (including eight tickets, a reserved table and listing in the program). A meet-and-greet will begin at 6 p.m. with a dinner following at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Mike Preston from the Arkansas Economic Developmental Commission. Deadline to buy tickets is Thursday, February 11.
UAPB Vesper Choir Performance

Gourd Craft Workshop

Palestine Summer Ball Registration
2/20 & 27/16
The Palestine summer ball program will be registering children ages 3-18 on Saturday, February 20, from 10-1 p.m. at the Palestine City Hall and again on Saturday, February 27, from 10-1 p.m. at Hibbett Sports in Forrest City. United States Air Force Band

Financial Aid Workshops

Forrest City High School will provide an opportunity for parents and seniors to come and complete financial aid applications for college. It will be on Tuesday, February 16, at 5:30 p.m. in the lecture hall in conjunction with the Parent/Teacher Conferences, including 9-11th grades as well, with another event on Saturday, February 20th from 9-12 p.m. For more information you can call 633-1464.
Million Dollar Quartet

Newcastle Rural Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting their annual chili day fundraiser on Friday, February 26. It will be located at the First Baptist Church in Forrest City starting at 10:30 a.m. and ending at 7 p.m. There will also be a bake sale and silent auction. Basket Weaving Event
The Village Creek State Park will be hosting a basket weaving event on Saturday, February 27th from 8:30- 4 p.m. or until all baskets are finished. This will be a hands-on event with a fee of $30 and registration is required. For more information you can call 238-9406.
February Events at Public Library
On Saturday, February 27, at 10 a.m. there will be a movie day. The show will be "Selma Lord Selma." This event will take place at the Forrest City Public Library. You can call 633-5646 for more information.
Forrest City Baseball
The Forrest City Recreation Dept. is accepting applications for youth softball and baseball for ages 4-17, deadline for registration is March 18. Those living in city limits will have fees of $20, while those outside city limits will be $25. They will also be registering men, women and co-ed softball age 18 and older. Team fees are $250. Palestine Ball Program Benefit
On Saturday, March 5, there will be a fish fry at the Palestine Fire Department from 3-7 p.m. You can dine-in or carry out a plate for $10. Peter Rabbit Tales

FCSD Uniform Drive
Forrest City School District is having a school uniform drive to collect new and gently-used uniforms. Donations may include navy and white collared shirts, and black, navy, and khaki pants. The Save-the-Children/21st CCLC after-school program continues every weekday (Monday-Friday) through May 6, 2016, from 3:40 to 5:40. This program is for second- through fifth-grade students. It offers support in literacy and math, physical activity and healthy nutrition, and fun enrichment activities. Transportation is provided within FC city limits.
